Bridget Longtin from Acworth, GA is coming to ORLX8!
Lindy Hoppers, Blues Dancers, Modern-music lovers.. Lend me your ears!
It’s that time of year again, where we break out the sunshine, swingin’ good times, and who knows, maybe even some shenanigans, as we proudly present the 2015 Orlando Lindy Exchange! Last year we had over 250 full-weekend attendees, and we’re pulling out all the stops to take this year’s ORLX to new heights! ORLX 8 will be held March 6th – March 8th, 2015. Full-weekend registration will be opening on Monday, January 19th, 2015, and prices are going to be starting at $60 for the weekend, including an awesome free t-shirt.
If you aren’t able to join us for the whole weekend, you can still get a slice of awesome, as tickets will be sold at the door for each evening and late-night dance, up to each venue’s capacity. Our afternoon dances, held in some of the beautiful parks we have here in Orlando, are, as always, free!
This year, the Mint Julep Jazz Band is going to be gracing our stages for the evening dances. Our late night dances will have multiple rooms, so the most difficult decision you’ll have is choosing which awesome DJ’s music to dance to. Also, for those of you craving a taste of swing break, ORLX is home to the original modern room. It started out as a late-night experiment, but has quickly grown to bring some of the most memorable experiences to ORLX attendees, so by your requests, we’re bringing it back!
Finally, if you buy a weekend pass before mid-February, you can request housing with a local dancer… for FREE!! As always, we will do our best to match you and your fellow travelers up with a host for the weekend, but housing is not guaranteed. If we feel we are running out of space to host you wonderful folks, we will stop accepting housing requests. If you’re a local Orlando dancer, please volunteer to host! It’s a great way to meet, dance, and hug some of the most amazing people in the universe (and by that, I mean our incredible out-of-town guests)!
We are so excited to welcome all you #ClassyOnes to the City Beautiful, and look forward to meeting you on the dance floor!
